Entrepreneur opens cafe for moms and their kids
Summary
In Ottawa, December 2009, Adeline Chapron opened Kid Kaf because she noticed parents were having a hard time in coffee shops. Space in shops was limited and tantrums were a hassle. She thought that parents needed a place to relax with the kids. Chapron thought that this would be a great business idea. She opened the shop with her husband, however she is the one resopnsible for the business operations. Chapron had worked as a manager at a family-friendly cafe in Calgary, and with the business knowledge she found from that position, she opened her own shop. The cafĂ© includes a playground for kids and an adult lounge. There is also a stroller parking outside the cafe. Chapron also plans on starting a program called “Kid Kare,” where parents can drop off their children for a few hours while they attend to their own needs.
